CAE's structure

Cae is made of five papers:

  • Reading: (1 hour 15 minutes) it involves a wide understanding of texts from publications such as fiction and non-fiction books, journals, newspapers and magazines.
  • Writing: (1 hour 30 minutes) One of the productive skills where two different pieces of writing such as an article, a report, a proposal and a review will be requiered.
  • English in Use: (1 hour) Grammar and vocabulary will take part in this paper, challenging you through many different tasks.
  • Listening: (40 minutes) Your receptive skill in English language will be ranged with spoken speeches, lectures, radio broadcasts and talks.
  • Speaking: (15 minutes) You will be tested on your ability to take part in different types of interaction: with the examiner, with the other candidate and by yourself.

  1. Hi Ena! Is this the new or old modality? I remmeber it changed... it used to be longer, right? I think I remember they gave 2 hours for the writing, for example.

  2. I don't remember! But, i added the link from which i got the info, and also the timing is the same i saw in another link. What i remember is that writing was the longest section of all
